Avoidance reactions of YOY fish assemblages were investigated in the offshore zone of three reservoirs in the Czech Republic during late summer. In each reservoir, three trawl nets of different widths were used in the pelagic area at night. Day catches were much lower compared with those taken at night. Adult fish showed very clear avoidance of fry trawls. At night, no statistically significant differences in estimated fry density, obtained by these trawls, were observed in any locality for any fish species, nor in the length distribution of important species between trawls. According to these results, the avoidance reactions of fry in the late summer, at night, are unimportant. At this time of year, nighttime pelagic trawling appears to be an effective method for quantitative fry sampling. We recommend the 3x3m trawl for quantitative night sampling of the fry community as a good compromise between assured efficiency and relatively easy handling.

Účinnost tří plůdkových tralů při vzorkováních sladkovodních pelagických plůdkových společenstev
Czech description
Únikové reakce společenstev tohoročních ryb byly sledovány ve volné vodě třech nádrží v České republice v průběhu léta. Na každé nádrži byly použity tři traly o různé šířce v průběhu noci. Denní úlovky byly mnohem nižší ve srovnání s nočními. Dospělé ryby vykazovaly jasné únikové reakce před plůdkovými traly. V noci nebyly zaznamenány statisticky průkazné rozdíly v dosažené denzitě plůdku pro tyto traly a to na žádné lokalitě pro žádný druh a nelišily se ani délky těla hojných druhů mezi jednotlivými traly. Vzhledem k těmto výsledkům jsou únikové reakce plůdku v noci v pozdním létě bezvýznamné. V tomto období roku se noční pelagické tralování jeví být zcela efektivní metodou pro kvantitativní vzorkování plůdku. Doporučujeme proto 3x3m tral pro kvantitativní noční vzorkování plůdkových společenstev jako dobrý kompromis mezi zajištěnou účinností a relativně snadným zacházením s tralem této velikosti.
