Original language description

In total 1362 wild birds of 20 species were examined in winter months during 2003-2006, for tick and chigger infestation in two sites near Brno. Tick Ixodes ricinus was found sporadically, in 11 (1%) birds examined. Ixodes arboricola and Ascoschoengastialatishevi were found in 47 (3%) and 13 (1%) birds, respectively, both of them in hole-dwelling birds only.

Zimní infestace volně žijících ptáků klíšťaty a sametkami (Acari: Ixodidae, Trombiculidae) v České republice

Czech description

V zimních měsících v letech 2003-2007 bylo vyšetřeno celkem 1.362 ptáků 20 druhů na napadení klíšťaty a sametkami na dvou lokalitách v blízkosti Brna. Klíště obecné, Ixodes ricinus, se vyskytovalo sporadicky, pouze u 11 (1%) ptáků. Klíště Ixodes arboricola a sametka Ascoschoengastia latishevi byla nalezena pouze u ptáků hnízdících v dutinách stromů a to u 47 (3%) a 13 (1%) vyšetřených exemplářů.
