    The reproduction of Eimeria flavescens and Eimeria intestinalis in suckling rabbits

  • Original language description

    Suckling rabbits were experimentally infected with coccidia Eimeria flavescens and Eimeria intestinalis. The rabbits at 14 and 16 days old remained uninfected, and in 19-day-old-animals, low or no oocyst shedding was observed. All the older rabbits wereinfected and the number of oocysts in the ceka increased with the age of animals at inoculation.

  • Czech description

    Sající králíčata byla experimentálně infikována kokcidiemi Eimeria flavescens a Eimeria intestinalis. Infekce mláďat starých 14 a 16 dní byla neúspěšná a u 19 dní starých byla zjištěna malá nebo žádná produkce oocyst. Starší zvířata byla infikována a počet oocyst v céku stoupal s věkem králíků v den inokulace.
