Third paper in a series about carotenoid radicals in LH2 complexes of purple bacteria. The main goal was, by selective depletion of the B800 bacteriochlorophyll, to study influence of the B800 on energy transfer pathways and to confirm the key role of this bacteriochlorophyll in the process of the carotenoid-bacteriochlorophyll charge separation in LH2.
