One adult syngamid nematode parasite couple was found in quarantine at the former Bohorok Rehabilitation Station from sputum of Pongo abelii and determined as Mammomonogamus laryngeus This finding confirmed previous record of ova and adult syngamid nematodes as Mammomonogamus sp. only, in orangutans kept in the Bohorok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre (Northern Sumatra, Indonesia) and presented a serious health hazard to rehabilitants in this locality. Morphometrical features and the first description ofthe parasite from orangutan were presented and documented. Coprological monitoring of infection in rehabilitants in this area as well as among the wild population of orangutan is necessary.

Nález a druhová identifikace hlístice Mammomonogamus laryngeus (Railliet, 1899) (Syngamidae: Nematoda) v polodivoké populaci sumatránského orangutana (Pongo abelii) v Indonésii
Czech description
V slinách sumatránského orangutana Pongo abelii drženého v karanténě v dřívější záchranné stanici Bohorok v Indonésii byl nalezen a určen dospělý pár hlístice Mammomonogamus laryngeus. Tento nález potvrdil dřívější nálezy vajíček a dospělých syngamidníchhlístic tehdy určených jako Mammomonogamus sp., které představovaly vážné ohrožení zdravotního stavu orangutanů v této lokalitě. Připojena jsou morfometrická měření a první popis tohoto parazita z orangutana. Je nutné koprologicky sledovat jak infekce uorangutanů v záchranné stanici tak v divoké populaci.
