    Dyes adsorption on magnetically modified Chlorella vulgaris cells

  • Original language description

    Dried Chlorella vulgaris cells were magnetically modified by a contact with the water-based magnetic fluid stabilized with perchloric acid. The prepared material displayed a superparamagnetic behavior at room temperature. Magnetically modified Chlorellavulgaris cells were used as a new inexpensive magnetic adsorbent for the removal of six water-soluble dyes. Langmuir isotherm was successfully used to fit the experimental data. The maximum adsorption capacities ranged between 24.2 (Saturn blue LBRR) and257.9 (aniline blue) mg of dye per g of dried magnetically modified cells. The change of pH value can significantly increase the adsorption of some dyes.

    Suché buňky Chlorella vulgaris byly magneticky modifikovány pomocí magnetické kapaliny stabilizované kyselinou chloristou. Připravený materiál vykazoval superparamagnerické vlastnosti při pokojové teplotě. Magneticky modifikované buňky Chlorella vulgarisbyly použity jako nový levný magnetický adsorbent pro odstranění šesti ve vodě rozpustných barviv. Experimenálními data byla proložena pomocí Langmuirovy isotermy. Maximální adsorpční kapacita se pohybovala mezi 24,2 (Saturnova modř LBRR) a 257,9 (anilínová modř) mg barvy na g suchých magneticky modifikovaných buněk. Změna pH výrazně zvýšila adsorpci některých barviv.
