Original language description
The immune response to coccidiosis was studied in suckling rabbits inoculated with oocysts of Eimeria intestinalis or E. flavescens at various days of age. Another group served as an uninfected control and the rabbits were killed at the same age as theirinfected counterparts. Unlike to the antibody response, the parameters reflecting cellular immunity (total number of leukocytes in mesenteric lymph nodes, lymphocyte proliferation test, dynamics of CD4+ and CD8+ cell proportions in the intestinal epithelium at the specific site of parasite development) showed that immune response was elicited in young rabbits with immature immune system and, moreover, at the age of animals when the condition are not favourable for parasite development.

Imunitní odpověď vůči kokcidióze byla studována u sajících králíčat inokulovaných oocystami Eimeria intestinalis nebo E. flavescens v různém stáří. Další skupina sloužila jako neinfikovaná kontrola a králíci z této skupiny byli utraceni ve stejném věku jako infikovaní. Na rozdíl od protilátkové odpovědi, parametry charakterizující buněčnou imunitu (celkový počet leukocytů v mesenterických lymfatických uzlinách, test proliferace lymfocytů, dynamika zastoupení CD4+ a CD8+ buněk ve střevním epitelu v místěspecifickém pro vývoj parazita) ukázaly, že imunitní odpověď byla vyvolána u mladých králíků s nevyzrálým imunitním systémem a navíc ve věku, kdy nejsou příznivé podmínky pro vývoj parazita.
