Genus-group names Metapogonia Lacroix, 2009 and Bezdekia Özdikmen & Demir, 2009 has been nearly simultaneously proposed for the genus group name Metagonia Kolbe, 1899 (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae). Based on Principle of Priority, Metapogonia Lacroix, 2009 is valid. Moreover, Bezdekia Özdikmen & Demir, 2009 is a primary junior homonym of Bezdekia Warchalowski, 2005 (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae).
