Effect of earthworms (Annelida: Lumbricidae) on the taxonomic composition of Nematoda assemblages in post-mining clays in the Czech Republic - a microcosm experiment
Original language description
Nematodes in field microcosms filled with soil cores taken from a coal post-mining dump and stocked with the earthworm Lumbricus rubellus Hoffmeister, 1843 were investigated. The microcosms were buried in a dump in October 2007, extracted in February 2008 in order to replace the earthworms, than buried again and the experiment concluded in May 2008 when the nematode fauna was analysed. The treatments were: no earthworms present during the entire experiment (L--), earthworms absent in the first period ofthe experiment and present in the second period (L-+), earthworms present in the first period of the experiment and absent in the second period (L+-) and earthworms present throughout the whole experiment (L++). Diversity of nematode assemblages (species, genera, H´gen) was significantly lower in the L++ treatment compared to the L-+ treatment.
