The identity of Postia lowei (Basidiomycota, Polyporales) and notes on related or similar species
Original language description
In an attempt to settle the systematic position of Pilát?s species Leptoporus lowei (currently Postia lowei), which is sometimes incorrectly interpreted in mycological literature, a study of rich type mate - rial deposited in the mycological herbarium ofthe National Museum, Prague (PRM) was undertaken. Detailed description of macroscopic and microscopic features is presented together with molecular characterisation. The most important macroscopic and microscopic features differentiating P. lowei from similar or related species are discussed. Phylogenetic analysis clearly demonstrated that P. lowei is a well-separated taxon with closest affinity to P.leucomallella and P. tephroleuca.
