Morphological and molecular characterization of common European species Adialytus (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Aphidiinae) based on mtCOI barcoding gene and geometric morphometrics of the forewings

  • Original language description

Three common Adialytus Forster species common in Europe / A. ambiguus Hal., A. salicaphis Fitch, A. thelaxis Stary/ were examined. Molecular analysis involved the DNA barcoding mtCOI gene. The genetic difference was based on Kimura.s two/parameter model. The geometric morphometrics analysis of the forewings also revealed that A. salicaphis and A. thelaxis have much broader forewings, suggesting strong flight ability associated with their parasitizing arboricolous aphids. An illustrated key for identifying the European Adialytus species is provided.
