  • Original language description

The genus Ambulyx contains around 60 species with a wide distribution across Asia, Indonesia and North Australia. A new species of the genus, Ambulyx rawlinsi sp. nov., is described and illustrated from the island of Seram (Maluku, Indonesia). A comparison of the habitus and male genitalia, together with DNA barcode data, is made with its closest relatives, Ambulyx charlesi(Clark, 1924) from Buru and A. marissa Eitschberger & Melichar, 2009 from Obi.
