Niloppia (Hanoiella) transversa subgen. n., sp. n. (Acari, Oribatida, Oppiidae) from Vietnam
Original language description
A new oribatid mite subgenus, Niloppia (Hanoiella) subgen. n. (Oribatida, Oppiidae, Oppiinae), is proposed, with Niloppia (Hanoiella) transversa sp. n. serving as the type species which is described from adults coming from a moss garden in Hanoi, northern Vietnam. The new subgenus is distinguished from the nominative one by the arrangement of notogastral setae da, lm and la, the position of la, the localization of lamellar setae, the morphology of the anterior margin of the notogaster, and the body ratio. An updated generic diagnosis of Niloppia Balogh 1983 is provided and subgeneric diagnoses of Niloppia (Niloppia) and Niloppia (Hanoiella) are given.
