    First Incidence of Plum Pox Virus on Apricot Trees in China

    Plum pox virus (PPV) is the most virus disease of plums, apricots and peaches that not only causes heavy losses to fruit growers, but influences international trade of propagating material and fresh fruits , too. Samples from symptomatic apricot trees were analyzed by ELISA, RT-PCR. BLAST analysis of the RT-PCR product sequence showed 100% identity with multiple Gen Bank accessions of PPV. This is the first report of PPV occurence in China.

    Virus šarky švestky (PPV) je nejvážnější onemocnění švestek, meruněk a broskví, způsobující těžké ztráty na ovoci. Poprvé byl popsán v roce 1917 v Bulharsku. Nyní je rozšířen po celém světě (Egypt, USA, Indie). Vzorky ze stromů meruněk napadených šarkoubyly testovány ELISA testem a RT-PCR. Toto je první zpráva o výskytu PPV v Číně.
