A review and host associations of aphid parasitoids (Hym., Braconidae, Aphidiinae) of Iran.

Original language description

An analysis of the history and of up-dated state of research on the aphid parasitoids of Iran manifests this country prevalently as a source of (potentially) useful parasitoid biocontrol agents, whereas an over-all faunal research is fragmentary and itsrespective intensification is recommended. Both published and original information on aphid parasitoids of Iran was summarized. Host aphid species, locations, sampling date and host plants are listed under each parasitoid species. Altogether 49 parasitoid species were determined, and 115 aphid species were found parasitized. Aphid-parasitoid associations (223) were also liste. A review of references related to the target group in iran and in the more or less neighbouring countries/areas was added.
