Cell-autonomous roles of the ecdysoneless gene in Drosophila development and oogenesis

  • Original language description

The ecdysoneless (ecd) gene has been identified whose one mutant allele causes deficiency of the steroid ecdysone and is therefore used to study the hormonal regulation of development. Despite expectations that Ecd has a primary role in steroidogenesis this protein turned out to be autonomously required for cell survival and for ovarian development independently of the circulating ecdysone

Buněčně-autonomní úloha genu ecdysoneless ve vývoji a oogenesi Drosophila
