    Following per os infection, a new Sindbis virus 5'dsMRE16ic-EGFP was detected in the gut of Aedes aegypti and Culex tritaeniorhynchus, but not Culex pipiens pipiens. Upon parenteral infection of larvae, the silkworm Bombyx mori showed EGFP expression inlarvae, pupae and adults, while the tobacco hornworm Manduca sexta was resistant to the virus. 5'dsMRE16ic should be useful for gene expression in some important insect species that are otherwise difficult to manipulate genetically

    Po infekci per os byl nový virus Sindbis 5'dsMRE16ic-EGFP detegován ve střevě komárů Aedes aegypti and Culex tritaeniorhynchus, ale ne Culex pipiens pipiens. Po parenterální infekci larev se exprese EGFP objevila v larvách, kuklách a dospělcích bource Bombyx mori, zatímco lišaj Manduca sexta byl vůči viru resistentní. 5'dsMRE16ic může být užitečný pro genovou expresi u některých důležitých druhů hmyzu, jejichž genetická manipulace by byla jinak obtížná
