Original language description

The tortricid moth Cydia alazon (Diakonoff, 1976) was collected by light trapping in the pine zone of Tenerife Island in April ? May 2003. At the same time larvae were discovered in cones of Pinus canariensis, from which adults emerged during May. The foodplant of C. alazon was unknown until now. The moth is widely distributed and locally common in the pine zone of Tenerife, and P. canariensis appears to be the only foodplant. Only several old records of adults were known from Gran Canaria and Tenerife,none with ecological data.

Unikátní obaleč Cydia alazon (Diakonoff, 1976) vázaný na endemitní borovici (Pinus canariensis) na Kanárských ostrovech, Španělsko (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae)

Czech description

Obaleč Cydia alazon (Diakonoff, 1976) byl zjištěn při lovu na světlo v zóně borovice kanárské na ostrově Tenerife v dubnu až květnu 2003. Ve stejné době byly v šiškách borovice Pinus canariensis objeveny housenky, ze kterých se dospělci obaleče C. alazonvylíhli během května. Živná rostlina obaleče C. alazon nebyla dosud známa. Tento obaleč je široce rozšířen a lokálně hojný v zóně borovice kanárské a Pinus canariensis se jeví jako jeho jediná živná rostlina. Pouze několik starých údajů o výskytu imagaC. alazon, bez bližších ekologických dat, bylo dosud známo z ostrovů Gran Canaria a Tenerife.
