Some trematodes and cestodes of fishes mainly from Hubei Province, central China.
Original language description
The paper comprises a systematic survey of trematodes and cestodes based on helminthological examinations of 176 specimens of 22 species of freshwater fishes, belonging to 11 families of 6 fish orders, from central China (mostly from lakes of the YangtzeRiver basin in Hubei Province) collected during the autumn of 2001. Eight species were collected of Trematoda and one of Cestoda. Data on their morphology, morphometrical variability, host range and distribution are provided. Some of these are new hostand geographical records. Almost all parasites are briefly described and illustrated, and problems concerning their morphology, taxonomy, hosts and geographical distribution are discussed.
