Female morphology and systematic status of Philometroides cyprini (Nematoda: Philometridae), a parasite of carp

  • Original language description

Gravid females of Philometroides were found under the scales of stock carp Cyprinus carpio L. imported from Lithuania to the Czech Republic in the spring of 1997 and kept in a quarantine pond. These specimens and those obtained from pond-cultured carp inRussia were used for detailed morphological studies. P. cyprini, the agent of a serious disease of carp, seems to have been originally distributed in east Asia, from where it was introduced into Europe in the early 1960s.

Morfologie samic a systematické postavení Philometroides cyprini (Nematoda: Philometridae), parazita kapra

  • Czech description

Gravidní samice Philometroides byly nalezeny pod šupinami násadových kaprů Cyprinus carpio L. importovaných na jaře 1997 z Litvy do České republiky a držených v karanténním rybníku. Tyto exempláře a exempláře získané z chovných kaprů z Ruska byly použityk podrobnému prostudování morfologie. Philometroides cyprini, původce závažného onemocnění kaprů, byl pravděpodobně původně rozšířen ve východní Asii, odkud byl začátkem šedesátých let zavlečen do Evropy.
