The Prohibition of Bacteriological (Biological) and Toxin Weapons and the Struggle against Biological Terrorism in the Czech Republic
Original language description
The international Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention assigns the acceptance of national legislative rules and the establishment of a national authority to control observing national legislation and other measures. Several departments, state organizations and institutions in the Czech Republic, such as the State Office for Nuclear Safety, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Health and others, deal with the problems of bio-terrorism prevention and protection. The Goverment of the Czech Republic, with its Resolution No. 1039, dated October 10 2001, defines the basic authorities of the ministries and the state administration in the field of the struggle against bio-terrorism. These involve several fields starting with prevention through diagnostics, up to special treating of illnesses caused by biological weapons and bio-terrorism.
