Original language description
The paper presents a method using a risk-based evaluation of development of traffic safety, which takes into account not only the causes of accidents but also the effects of accidents effects simultaneously. In other words, the method investigates a probability of accidents in connection with severity of their effects. It means that the method investigates the risks associated with the accidents. The paper shows that a risk-based evaluation of the road safety can be used as a very useful tool of analysis the trends of the development of safety, which provides to review the results of measures taken and to evaluate their effectiveness.
