An attenuated strain of the facultative intracellular bacterium Francisella tularensis can escape the phagosome of monocytic cells
Original language description
Transmission electron microscopy indicated that the majority of bacteria were not enclosed by a phagosomal membrane. F. tularensis LVS is capable to escape the phagosome of macrophages via a mechanism that involves degradation of the phagosomal membrane.
