This paper provides a detailed overview of foresight methods used by three selected institutions: University of Houston, IISS, SIPRI. To make result comparable, each case study aims to answer five key questions: What is the purpose of the foresight? Who is the customer of the effort? What is the time horizon of the foresight? What terminology is used (threats, challenges, risks etc.)? What method/techniques of the foresight analysis are used by state/institution/company. The paper serves as a working material for SAS panel activity “Future Strategic Environment Assessment: Framework for Analysis”.
