  • Original language description

Information revolution and evolution of cyberspace as the new strategic domain recreating traditional thinking about warfare and State’s strategy as general. On the international level, this situation reshaping the character of the State’s power and thus power competition and struggle. Features like the complex structure, specific borders and diminished role of distance clearly distinguish cyberspace from land, naval, air, and even space domain. From the military perspective, these characteristics establish new possibilities to deliver harmful effect and ultimately to reach set strategic interests and goals. Cyberspace influencing de facto all capabilities of armed forces. The usage may vary from support functions (for example, as a necessary platform to incorporate the elements of precision-guided munition weapon systems) to coercive ones (malicious cyber activities, such as sabotage). On the other hand, these advantages should be seen reciprocally and could be used by adversaries. From this point of view, cyberspace also constitutes challenges for the State’s power and its position in the international system. This paper aims to examine the implications of described development for the small State and its power. The focus will be on military power represented by armed forces and strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities for their capabilities. This paper will provide a necessary understanding of the promotion of small States’ national interests and their position in the international system in the information era.
