Original language description
Development of Czech defense expenditures over the last decade was strongly influenced by significant political turning points in the history of the Czech nation. Both joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the European Union had a great impact on the amount of financial resources allocated to defense. While the first half of the decade leading to the Czech Republic membership in the NATO was characterized by rather increasing defense expenditures, joining the EU and particularly the Czech ambition to comply with requirements of the European Pact of Stability and Growth seem to have an opposite impact. This article outlines developments in defense expenditures in the Czech Republic in the period of years 1995 through 2005.

Vývoj český obranných výdajů za poslední desetiletí byl silně ovlivněn politickými změnami. Jak přistoupení k Organizaci Severoatlantické smlouvy, tak i vstup do Evropské unie měly významný vliv na výši finančních zdrojů alokovaných do sféry obrany. zatímco první polovina dekády cílená na členství České republiky v NATO byla charakterizována rostoucími obrannými výdaji, vstup do EU a zejména záměr splnit podmínky Evropského paktu stability a růstu měly ve vztahu k obranným výdajům efekt opačný. Tento článek nastiňuje vývoj obranných výdajů v Čr V OBDOBÍ LET 1995 až 2005.
