Original language description
The paper deals with the potential of flood protection in the Luznice river-basin in the South Bohemia region. This area was repeatedly flooded in 2002 and 2006. The paper shows the development of basic physico-chemical parameters of water quality and analyzes the changes in the quality of surface waters regarding the distribution of quality categories before and after the flood. The structures of flood damage as well as the basic protection against flood have been mentioned. Particular constructions and technical measures leading to the increased retention capabilities of landscape have been proposed. Such measures can have a positive impact on flood passing through the region and thus significantly reduce material damage. The effect of newly built dry basin on the transformation of high-flood-water wave is discussed.

Czech description
Příspěvek pojednává o možnostech ochrany před povodněmi v regionu jižních Čech v povodí řeky Lužnice. Toto území bylo opakovaně zasaženo povodní v letech 2002 a 2006. V příspěvku je demonstrován vývoj základních fyzikálně chemických ukazatelů jakosti voda posuzovány změny v kvalitě povrchových vod z hlediska rozložení jakostních tříd na řece Lužnici před a po povodni. Je zmíněna struktura povodňových škod a také základní přístupy k ochraně území před povodněmi. Pro sledovaný region jsou navrhována konkrétní stavebně technická opatření a opatření ke zvýšení retenčních možností krajiny, která mohou positivně ovlivnit průchod povodně regionem a významně snížit materiální škody. Je diskutován vliv nově budovaného poldru na transformci povodňové vlny.
