Electrodeposition of selected alpha-emitting radionuclides from oxalate-ammonium sulphate electrolyte and measured by means of solid-state alpha spectrometry
Original language description
This method describes electrodeposition ofselected group of alpha-emitting radionuclides such as themethod suitable for measurement by means of solid-statealpha spectrometry. The effect of volume and pH of electrolyte, distance of electrodes, current andplating time inpresence of ammonium oxalate, hydroxyl ammoniumsulfate, ammonium sulfate, and DTPA (diethyltriaminopentaaceticacid) versus different alpha-emitting radionuclides wasobserved in order to optimize the conditions and to obtain themaximum yield. The chemical yield of this method isapproximately by 4% higher than for the Talvities methodand it corresponds with study of Lee MH et al. The group ofisotopes that were studied includes 232U, 238Pu, 241Am,243Am, and 244Cm.
