Solvent extraction of americium by imidodiphosphates and diimidotriphosphates
Original language description
Solvent extraction was described for determiningof the americium content in the liquid samples. Arylesters ofimidodiphosphoric, imidothiodiphosphoric, imidodithiodiphosphoricacids and tetraphenylimidodithiodiphosphine areused as representatives of bidentate organophosphoricextractants. From the group of tridentate agents, pentaphenyldiimidotriphosphate, was used. The extraction propertiesof tetraphenyl imidodiphosphates and their sulphur analoguesfor trivalent americium in 0.1 mol L-1 HNO3 into toluenealso in the presence of tri-n-octylphosphine oxide (TOPO)were investigated. The dependences of equilibrium ratios ofthe americium on analytical or equilibrium concentration ofchelating agents, pH, initial concentration of nitric acid andinitial concentration of TOPO were studied. The structures ofthe complexes in the organic phase were determined and thevalues of extraction constants were calculated.
