In connection with restructuring of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) Command Structures in years 2003 - 2004, there has been decided to create so - called ?Centres of Excellence? (COEs). These Centres are national or multinational sponsoredorganisations, which provide special abilities and experience in benefit to the whole NATO. The Czech Republic has decided, after previous consideration of all opportunities, to commit to the Czech Armed Forces specialization within both protection against Weapons of Mass Destruction and building of an International Military Organisation named as COE on its territory.
