Original language description
The European Union as a result of the historical process of integration is currently a union of 27 Member States having developed market economies and functioning democratic government systems. The aim of this paper is to evaluate economic and institutional development of the European Union countries and the Ukraine as a member of the European neighbourhood. To analyse the current situation in the Ukraine and the EU countries, the authors employ multivariate statistical techniques which take into consideration the multivariate properties of the data sets used as input variables.
