As the Defense Planning Process incorporates the input of the analytical materials such as Threat management, Planning situations, Future trends, Political ? Military analysis and Current operations Lessons Learned, it is obvious that the Military Intelligence plays significant role in supporting the Minimal Capability Requirements identification. This article discusses the role of Military Intelligence in the Defense Planning Process, particularly its inputs into Threat management ? Planning situationsdevelopment. Generally the so called ?Outside ? in looking? approach is used to direct the Intelligence Management, based on the Threat Management. The article offers also the opposite approach called ?Inside ? out looking?, which is using the long termstrategic objectives for directing and managing intelligence cycle to support the Threat management ? Planning situations.
