Authors in the article analyse adopted models of the Armed Forces nad Ministries of Defence of the Slovak and Czech Republic development and modernization and simultaneously, compare the planned defence expenditures according to the metioned models for the fulfilment of governemnt-appointed tasks, international commitments, mission, vision and goals of both Ministries and the Armed Forces to really earmarked financial resources. Authors deduce conclussion fo defence fo both countries and their contribution to block defence in term of the NATO.
