Children?s Acute Health Risks of Nitrates in Drinking Water
Original language description
Nitrates get to drinking water mostly from fertilized soil. The article is focused on the acute health risks associated with children?s exposure to nitrates in drinking water. Because of the specification of children?s bodies the ingestion of such pollutant may cause difficult breathing and death. The samples of drinking water have been taken in Brno and analysed according to the relevant SOP. The health risks have been stimated in accordance with the US EPA methodology. Results indicate that the legallimits do not correspond to the real health risks that are not acceptable in some monitored sites.
