Status and Perspective of Military Deception
Original language description
Military deception has played an irreplaceable role in the history of wars. Its usage has unquestionably contributed to military victories with less expenditure of energy and resources. The reality is that with exceptions of US Armed Forces, which have dedicated enough attention to this issue there are few or none current national or allied doctrines, where the theory of military deception would be developed in detail. The authors present their own theoretical perspective on military deception, point tothe absence of theory, scientific research and education, and recall some historical examples. They explain possible typology, ways and principles of deception that should be taken into account in the operational planning process and present possible perspective for military deception development in the information age and in modern operations.
