STUDY COPING STRATEGIES AT THE TERTIARY LEVEL OF EDUCATION
Original language description
The issues of coping with the academic load in the civilian environment today appear to be a topical theme in tertiary education. According to the research and statistics that intensively monitor the lack of success in learning, a student who decides independently, but rather under the influence of emotions than a rational - critical assessment of his / her situation, appears to be a key factor. One of the possible causes of the lack of success in learning - the so-called "dropout" - is coping with the academic load associated with the demands of higher education. The need to pursue the topic is based on the empirically proven facts. In the long term, it is difficult to reduce the number of students who are not able to succeed in completing their university studies in the Czech Republic both in the civilian and military environments. Based on the analysis of available information sources, the aim of the paper is to create an inventory of possible ways of coping with the academic load at the tertiary level of education. The study itself has several uses in practice: the drafting and implementation of the research in the field of coping with the academic load for selected target groups, professional and educational counselling. The text that has emerged as part of the project solution for the organization development entitled "Development of Social Competencies of the Commander-Leader" (LEADER DZRO K-104) brings the answer to the question: Whether and what strategies for coping with the academic load at tertiary level exist. The project has been implemented by the Department of Leadership of the Faculty of Military Leadership at the University of Defence in Brno.
