The intent of this paper is to describe a kind of ammunition called Frangible Ammunition. Frangible ammunition (further just abbreviation FG ammunition) is named by use of ?frangible? bullet, which has very specific mechanical and ballistics characteristics. A frangible bullet is designed to be broken into tiny particles upon impact. Purpose of this characteristic of FG bullets is to minimize their penetration and ricochet for reasons of range safety, to limit damage of background materials on ranges and to limit the danger behind the target.

Cílem tohoto článku je popsat střelivo nazývané "frangible". Frangible střelivo je nazýváno podle své střely, která má velmi specifické mechanické a balistické vlastnosti. Frangible střely jsou navrhovány tak, aby se při nárazu na překážku roztříštily namalé částice. Cílem je aby se tyto střely neodrážely a nepronikaly hluboko což zvyšuje bezpečnost na střelnicích, snižuje poškozování záchytů střel a ohrožený prostor za cílem.
