Evaluation of HLA distributed simulation of real-time Air Defence Control Systems.
Original language description
The HLA simulation gives the users the capability to design and run scenarios that generate realistic problems a AD systems experts could encounter. The COTS HLA in the 2D and 3D GUI planning interface allows them to then watch as these scenarios unfoldand observe the performance of the simulated configuration. Additionally, the users can modify any of the scenario attributes to explore different potential outcomes. Lastly, all of the events in the scenario are logged for each simulated platform and combat systems equipment, which allows for the reconstruction of particular events of interest. Uncertainity of real situation represent sensor errors, operator?s mistakes, misidentification of aircraft, etc. Evaluation consist of comprehensive testing ofthe simulation using parametric analysis to evaluate control algorithms of real-time control systems. Paper describes relevance of the virtual simulations in training for the complex and challenging task of Air-Defense operations.
