Original language description
The work concentrates on possibilities of engagement areas determination for fighter aircraft with guided missiles and air cannons during air target interception. Initial presumptions for mathematical model build-up are mentioned, as well as developmentdiagram and results with graphical outputs, which show the possibilities of a succesfull engagement under given conditions. This paper analyses the combat use of air cannons in close-range aerial maneuvering combat in terms of their significancy and combat effectiveness. Presented are the specifics of ACM as well as of Gatling cannons. The emphasis is laid on the calculation of the probability of kill by a cannon burst, while particular factors, which influence this probability, are analysed.
