Recently, the Czech Military is under process of modernisation of engineer machinery and equipment at the area of timber structures means. The frame-saw DTJA 60 is replaced by the mobile band-saw.The band saw with special geomtry tooth was designed for the mobile band-saw. Designed shapeof tootht comes from theory of high-speed machining. The dynamics style of cutting exploates elastic and plastic strain of wooden body. Functionality of the new tool was tested on mobile band-saw Husqvarna SMB-70. The experimental results particulary proved theoretical assumptions. The expected benefit of designed tooth shape is in narrowed cutting gap and therefore increasing of yield, lower roughness of cutting surface and finally strenghtening of surface layer through plastic deformation on cutting surface.
