The article deals with the basic elements of the base perimeter. The base perimeter is an imaginary area that is needed to be supported by all available resources. The article describes different parts of the barrier protection, the perimeter protectionand the protection of buildings. In the article, there is mentioned the possible structure of the perimeter base. The security perimeter of the base is one of the most important parts of force protection. Ensuring of any base safety has to be based on the region and the situation in the surroundings. Another factor, which has an influence on the extent of security measures, is the operation-estimated time in the area. These factors determine extent and cost of security measures. The article is preparedin accordance with the Defence Research Project named: ?Technical support of design, building, maintenance and cancelling of the Czech military bases in missions abroad, using the Reach-Back concept?
