The monograph was inspired by the need for publishing selected issues being dealt with which have certain connection with designing, operation, diagnostics, maintenance and reliability of special technologies. It includes a selection of the author?s workresults in the period between 1999 and 2009. The monograph contains results covering four basic areas: Safety, Reliability and Risk, Modeling of Complex Mechanical Systems, Tribology, Diagnostics, Maintenance, Reliability, Theory and Application and Up-to-date Methods and their using in Special Technique. The author, having worked as a worker, a technician, an engineer and a university teacher, has learned that using systematic approach and fundamental principles in solving practical tasks brings in order, saves time, releases mental tension of the solving person, brings in specific creative solutions as well as necessary economic effects.
