Contribution to the Ballistic Resistance of the Helicopter Fuselage Penetrated by 7.62-59 projectile Using FEM
Original language description
The paper deals with Finite Element Method (FEM) simulations of the impact of 7.62-59 projectile into a structure of helicopter semimonocoque rear fuselage part using Ansys Workbench Autodyn v.11. FEM model of the penetration process is based on experiments using the aluminium alloy D16AT specimens. The results are compared and influencing factors are discussed. Next the ballistic limit of the fuselage structure is introduced using FEM in terms of a limit velocity of the bullet. The results obtained areuseful in the analysis of the airframe structures with battle damages.
