GAS DRIVE OF MACHINE GUN
Original language description
The drive of breech parts of gas operated small arms belongs to the most used principles of drive, which provides reliable function of weapon automatics almost for every operational conditions. It enables the high accuracy of firing and in the case of requirements also ability to a regulation of the rate of fire. This type of the weapon drive is most used for mechanisms of high rate of fire weapons. Firstly there are defined the principles of the gas drive mechanism and consequently are presented the equations of flowing the gases from the arrel bore into the gas cylinder and also from the gas cylinder into the barrel backwards. The effect of discharge coefficient on the calculations and its determination is discussed at the same time with the motion equation of drive piston and breech parts linked with it in the first period within the operation cycle. One application of presented equations is discussed on example 7.62 mm machine gun.
