Methods of the Calculation of the Passive Infrared Guidance System Range
Original language description
The paper deals with two approaches of a calculation of the passive infrared guidance system range. The range is an important characteristic of the system which expresses usability of the specific guidance system in different conditions. For defined parameters of the target, the atmosphere and the seeker, the range is defined as a maximum target distance when the target could be detected with the determined probability. For the seeker with the modulation of radiant flux, two methods of the range calculation are explained. The first one is based on the interactive method when such distance between the target and the seeker is found by means of the repeated calculation of the received radiant flux till the radiant flux has the minimum acceptable value. The second one results from the maximum ideal range explicitly expressed that is used to the calculation of the real range. The estimated value of the realistic range and the so-called standard range are used
