Use of meteorological information in cross-country movement
Original language description
The intention is to use both geographical and meteorological data for Cross-Country Movement (CCM) analysis. Various data are used in meteorology. We can use Visual Weather (VW) software to interact with them. VW allows visualization, processing and other data manipulation, creating custom products and their distribution. The modern methods to make data available are Web services. VW can provide almost all viewable products through Web Map Service (WMS). To access the data it is possible to use the WebCoverage Service (WCS). In this case, the output format NetCDF3 was used. ArcGIS provides a scalable framework for geographic data on desktops, in servers and over the Web. ArcGIS Server was used in this case. ArcGIS Server supports publishing of geospatial services and tasks, including open-standard services and creating web applications. Cooperation with VW is focused on the use of meteorological data with a time dimension. The practical implementation is aimed at CCM
