The article deals with the creation of the maps to build a test of perceptual and cognitive characteristics of geographic visualizations. The test allows evaluating the effect of different maps for accuracy and speed of solving tasks. The article shows the comparison of visualizations generated by the raster equivalent of topographic maps and visualizations created by adaptive cartographic visualization methods for use in the Czech Army Ground Forces Tactical Command and Control Systems (GF-TCCS).
