    Corrosion resistence evaluation of structural steels by plasma nitriding

  • Original language description

    Plasma nitriding process was recently used especially for increasing of surface hardness and fatigue. Nowadays, the plasma nitriding process is used for increasing of corrosion resistance as well. This study is focused on research of corrosion resistanceof steels AISI 1045 and AISI 4340. Selected steel samples were subsequently oxinitrided at 500°C and laboratory tested by the NSS corrosion testing method in accordance with ISO 9227 standard.
