    The article presents results of firing experiments and FEM simulations focused on the determination of ballistic resistance of thin aerospace aluminium alloy sheet metal AL 2024-T3 against projectiles of law-enforcement pistol cartridge Action-5. Variousconditions of projectile and target clash and thus different results in the projectile penetration were achieved with utilisation of forwarded obstacle in form of a block of ballistic gel that simulates the live target.
