Original language description

The contribution deals with the issue of preventive protection of population, technical infrastructure and environment against negative impacts of inconsiderate spatial development. The relations between sustainable development and spatial development are described in the first part of the paper. Then the current state of spatial development security is presented, mainly on a national level of the Czech Republic. The chapter is finished with a brief description of the most significant semi-quantitativemethods of risk analysis, which became the starting point for developing the spatial development security assessment tool. The principal part of the paper is the presentation of the analytical tool for risk assessment of landscape and urban planning entitled Spatial Development Impact Assessment. There are main parts of the tool presented in the chapter, i.e. the assessment process algorithm, the catalogue of hazard and asset groups, and the spatial development impact matrix.
